Is it okay if I change my major in college?
Absolutely! Many people I know changed their major….some even switched multiple times! None of these people regretted their decision. Most felt they had grown and developed different passions or realized their original major wasn’t going to get them to their dream job.
I changed not only my major, but also my university! I started at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania (shoutout to the best college experiences). I took a year off after high school and then attended MU for 2 years. There was an issue with financial aid, which led me to unenroll. I got married and moved states by the time I started college the second time, at Rowan University, 4.5 years after leaving MU. It was a completely different experience, but I feel like I took my education far more seriously as a “non-traditional” student. I wouldn’t change my journey, because it got me to where I am today, with a wonderful husband and two demanding demonch……cats. They’re cute, and I love them….I swear.
The long and short of it is this: if you feel like you hate where your current major is taking you….I mean truly hate….change your major to something you are passionate about. You will never regret taking risks. Someday, you will regret NOT taking risks, so do it. If you want to change back, do that too.
***disclaimer, don’t go changing your major because midterms or finals are stressing you out….change for genuine reasons, folks***
