Happy Wednesday, my beautiful flock! I know it’s been a LONG time since I’ve visited the pond, and I’m sorry. One day, I’ll write a whole thing explaining the craziness of the last two years, but that day is not today. I would really like to get this blog up and running again, so I’m starting to brainstorm. I would love to start selling my creations here! Keep an eye on the site for a new storefront! I still have to figure out how it works, so give me some time. I hope to be honking at you again soon!
STAY SILLY!
Hey, everyone!! I’m so sorry I’ve been MIA for a while!! This has been quite a hectic year, and I’ll go into it further, but that’s a post for a different day. I just wanted to stop in and wave a wing to my flock!!
I hope you’re all have a fantastic week so far and get to enjoy a wonderful weekend!! Summer is coming to an end already, so enjoy it!!
As always,

Hello, silly geese!!
You’re probably thinking Baby Goose rolled over or something. If so, nope. We have another first at almost two months old.
Baby Goose has been amazing since day one. Now, he only ever had spit up once in the hospital and then not at all since coming home. Well, that changed. I finally got him dressed for a day out without having a plan to actually go anywhere. Apparently that was against the rules because Baby Goose spit up at home for the first time!

On the bright side, he has all these cute clothes he needs to wear, so we moved on to a new sleeper before he grows out of it. This kid is growing like a weed!
Good thing I had another Giant Hoodie available because these things are life!

Hello, everyone!!
It’s been quite a while since my last post, and there’s a good reason! There’s a baby goose in the flock, and he was born in January. For his privacy, pictures will not be shared at this time, but he’s completed the Goose family completely.
Mama Goose and Dada Goose are over the moon in love with Baby Goose!!
With this new addition, the blog may be taking a turn in the direction of motherhood. I think it would be fun to write about the craziness that is becoming a mom and the silly things babies do as they grow.
While this post is short, I would like to start writing stories related to our every day lives while on the journey we’ve started.
For those that have stayed during this long hiatus, thank you for being in the flock! For those that will join or follow after, thank you for being in the flock!
As always,
STAY SILLY
Happy Tuesday, geese and gals!!
I figured I would share a silly picture just because, so here’s the result of my attempt to get a cute picture of Mac (the newest member of the flock).

As always,

Have you ever had someone close to you tell you that you’re frustrating to deal with?
Have you been told you need to work on your communication skills?
Do the people closest to you avoid disagreeing with you to avoid a possibly explosive reaction?
If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, you’ll want to keep reading. The most recent HELP ME, SILLY GOOSE submission is allllll about communication! Read on to find out more about how to improve your communication, especially with those closest to you.
Dear Silly Goose,
I’ve been having a hard time with something lately, and I could use some non-judgemental advice.
My spouse, family, friends, and coworkers throughout my life have told me I can be difficult to disagree with, and I have to say, I don’t disagree with them. When I’m passionate about my point of view, all communication skills go out the window. I start dominating the conversation…and then feel insanely guilty the minute the conversation is over.
I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD in the past, but my parents never wanted me to take medicine because of the possibility for addiction. I don’t know what to do now, because I’m starting to see so many of my ADHD symptoms breaking down my ability to put into action all of the wonderful communication skills I’ve been taught…over and over and over again. It’s like every piece of my brain gets wrapped up in what I’m passionate about, and I end up feeling terrible after these types of conversations.
What can I do besides just talking to my doctor about taking medication?
HELP ME, SILLY GOOSE!
Signed,
Stressed by Communication
Dear Stressed,
You certainly came to the right place for your communication issues. I, myself, have ADHD and have gone long periods of time without medication for one reason or another. I have several people close to me that also have ADHD. The stereotype is that ADHD is all silliness, hyperactivity, and an inability to sit still for longer than 30 seconds. These may all be symptoms, but they are far from the only ones. Silliness, hyperactivity, and the inability to sit still come with far more impactful symptoms as well, such as difficulty with communication.
When dealing with communication issues, it’s really important to be honest with yourself and those around you. While you’re working on something such as interruption, make those closest to you aware that this is the communication skill you’re working on at the moment. This gives you something that helps immensely with personal growth: the opportunity to be held accountable in a constructive and positive manner.
Those closest to you know you best, at least most of the time. Be open and honest with them about how they can help hold you accountable in ways that will encourage you to change the behavior. For example, I have had several encounters in my lifetime in which I interrupted someone and they went off on me. This didn’t help me stop interrupting, but it made me feel even more guilty after every conversation I had in which I remembered interrupting someone. A communication skill that I’ve learned over the years, through lots of therapy and trial and error, is to tell someone how to hold me accountable.
How does this work? Well, let’s use your situation in this next example. If you know that a subject that has just entered the conversation is a subject you because passionate about frequently, tell the person(s) you’re talking to that you want to be held accountable for this action. This could be in the form of a visual cue, especially if you’re in public or in front of a new person, or a verbal cue. One example of a verbal clue can be seen in the movie Meet the Fockers when Jack’s wife says, “Muskrat,” when her husband is getting out of a hand with something.
Perhaps you need something more blunt when it comes to being held accountable. Communication style is a difficult thing to change, especially as an adult. You might need your inner circle to call you out directly. For example, while communicating your viewpoint about a controversial topic you feel strongly about, you may get passionate and loud. You can ask your inner circle to explicitly say, “Hey, you’re supposed to be working on this behavior.” This reminder is enough for some people to get back into the mindset of improving their communication style.
Basically, to sum it all up for you all, be open and honest while you’re trying to improve, especially when it comes to communication. It’s too easy to fall back into old communication habits when you don’t have someone holding you accountable until you start being able to hold yourself accountable. Self-discipline, for someone with ADHD, is hard. Our brains are moving a thousand miles a minute. There’s always some song on in the background that you can’t remember all the words to…or a song you wish you couldn’t remember the words to (Baby Shark, I’m looking at you on this one).
Love,
Silly Goose

Hello!! I know it’s been a while, but I have a good message to share.
Today was a bad day for me. This was my first bad day at my current job (9 months in!!), which is pretty awesome.
Do you know why I had a bad day?
It’s not what you think (or what I thought either).
………..
MY ATTITUDE!!!
I had a bad attitude about a not-so-awesome task, and it made me feel so angry and annoyed all day. Had I stopped for a minute, taken a breath, and made the decision to just make the best of things, I wouldn’t have had a bad day. I know it.
So, basically what I’m saying is this: YOU HAVE 100% OF THE CONTROL OVER YOUR ATTITUDE!! Even when you don’t have control over the circumstances, you do have control over how you react and handle things.
Don’t be a Silly Goose 😉 and let a bad attitude ruin your day.
I love my job and the people I work with, and I know the task I wasn’t thrilled about was very important and necessary. Next time, it’ll be important and necessary to have a good attitude about it, whether I’m thrilled about the task or not.
Let me pose a question (and don’t leave me hanging, guys!).
How do you make a not-so-awesome thing more enjoyable (or at least not miserable)?
When I’m not being a toad, I like cracking jokes and making goofy little songs about what I’m doing. It helps the time pass more quickly and makes me laugh.

Happy Thursday, everyone! We have our very first story submitted via the My Silly Goose Facebook page! Please note that the story has been edited in the most limited way possible, meaning spelling and any major grammar issues. This story was written and submitted by Gordon Morgan.
We went on a driving trip today. The dogs thought we were going to the dog park. They started to get restless, so we stopped at a city park and went for a walk. I think they were very happy. Thursdays are such good days to take all the dogs for a walk. We go to all kinds of different places on our walks. Sometimes we go to the lake, which is only five minutes from our house. Sometimes we just go for a walk on the trails around the lake. Sometimes we go for walks around our neighborhood. But the guys really like it when I take them to the dog park. No matter (where) we end up going, everyone, including me, is very happy. Every now and then we go walking at my father’s house. There is so much area for the boys to explore. They know when we pull up to my dad’s, and they get very excited. After we woke up from nap, the dogs wanted to go on a walk. We went on a walk in our neighborhood. The dogs really enjoyed going on the walk. They really like going to the dog park and visiting with all the other dogs. But they also have fun walking in our neighborhood. I was just thinking how happy my dogs and myself are walking on the trails next to the lake. They have so much fun sniffing and peeing on everything. We usually try to go to the trails at least once every two weeks. We live just about a block from the lake. Remembering all the times we took our dogs to the dog park; we had such good times. And going to the lake, we had such fun times. The dogs even like grilling at the lake and enjoy us giving them hot dogs. Me and my wife surely enjoy taking our dogs wherever we can. I met one of my neighbors the other day while we were walking our dogs. I asked her if she ever took her dog to the dog park. She said no. So, I asked her if she would like to go the next time we went, and she said yes. A couple days later, I called and asked if she wanted to follow me to the dog park and she said yes. We had such a good time at the dog park, and I asked if she would like to go there again. She said she sure would. In the summer it really gets hot. My dogs get hot too. Sometimes we all go to the lake and get in the water and cool off. All three of my dogs love the water and enjoy them self very much. We all love the lake. Walking in the rain and walking in the snow does not bother my dogs; they go wherever I go. Walking on the beach and walking on the sand, they love to walk wherever I want to go. They are such good dogs. I love them very much. One day, not so long ago, my wife and I took all three of our dogs to the walking trails by the lake. We took the trail we were on all the way to the lake. The two poodles like to wade around in the water, but the terrier likes me to throw a stick so he can bring it back to me. All I know is that they really enjoyed their day on the trails and at the lake. We had so much fun today at the dog park. I think we like to go there just like our dogs. We live close to the lake and sometimes we take them down there. They enjoy walking and getting in the water. I was thinking about getting another car. I can’t afford a new one and have to get a used one. Along the way to the used car lot, we saw a lot of people looking up in the sky. When we stopped at the car lot, we got out of the car and looked up to see what everyone was looking at. Then we saw it; it was a blimp. I had never seen a blimp before and was happy I saw this one. We looked at several cars but could not make a decision. So, we left the car lot. After driving around all day, we decided to go to the grocery store, and we got some T-bone steaks. We went to the lake so we could grill our T-bone steaks. We all enjoyed our T-bone steaks. After eating our steaks, we decided to go fishing. We did not have any poles or bait for fishing. So, we decided we would go fishing the next day. Playing in the sand on the beach is so much fun. Me and my brother enjoy building sandcastles in the sand. Sometimes the water washes our sandcastles away. We love going to the beach. Sometimes our parents bring fun things to play with. Like a big beach ball. Playing in the water can be so much fun also. After we ate supper last night, we all wanted ice cream. We went to the store and got some ice cream. After the ice cream we all decided to go for a walk. When we got ready to leave, the dogs just knew what we were doing. We decided to take them with us. We all had such a great time on the walk. Walking the dogs brings us so much fun and the dogs like it also. While walking down the street we met Shotgun Pete. We asked Pete what he had been doing and he said he was just sitting on the park bench enjoying the sunshine. Running and jumping can be so much fun. Walking the dogs can be so much fun. I really like it when we take the dogs to the dog park. That can be so much fun. While walking all around town, we began to get tired. I said we should get bikes so we could get to where we were going faster. You said we would still get tired. I said we would get their faster. So, I got us a couple of bikes. While walking down the street in my nice quiet town. I met a lady who had two dogs. I told her I had a dog also. Then I asked her if she would like to go to the dog park. She said she had never been to a dog park before. I told her it would be fine, and the dogs would enjoy their selves. Later on, that day we met up and went to the dog park. She told me she enjoyed it and would like to go again. I said that I would like to go again also. I am so glad that she liked it and wanted to go again. One time, a long time ago, you told me you wanted a dog. I was so happy to hear that, so I bought you a dog. Now that you have a dog. What do you two do? You said you loved to go to the dog park. I am so happy that you like your dog I gave you and enjoy going to the dog park with. Maybe someday we can all go to the lake. We can also go swimming. We can also go fishing. And don’t forget hamburgers and hot dogs. We can have so much fun at the lake. Singing in the rain can be really wet. Sliding down a hot metal slide can be painful. Walking on gravel can be hurtful. Drinking too much alcohol, might make you too drunk. Thinking you are the best may not be a great idea. But being a nice person is the best thing you can do. When you are a nice person, you might take the dogs for a walk. You can even take them to the dog park. They really enjoy going to the dog park. You can also take them to the lake. They always have a great time at the lake. You could even take a couple of fishing poles and fish a little while. You can also go swimming at the lake. Swimming can make you hungry. Going to the store and getting some steaks and hot dogs could be real fun. After eating we could take the dogs to the dog park. They love to go to the dog park. We so much enjoy singing in the rain and having fun. Singing in the rain can be really wet. Sliding down a hot metal slide can be painful. Walking on gravel can be hurtful. I was going through my Snapchat saved pictures, and there are some gems in there, let me tell you! I figured I’d share one today, and then I’ll see what else I can find throughout the week.
Make sure you check out the Make Me Laugh page for giggles on your bad days…or just giggles in general, no bad day required. This picture will be posted there as well.

FUN FACT: I crocheted the sweater I’m wearing in this picture! I actually made it for Husband Goose for our second Christmas together. He was very surprised and wore it all the time…until the washer and dryer stretched it out a little too much. Whoops! Anyway, enjoy this goofy picture of my eyes being enormous and my nose being gone!
Have a honky Wednesday!
